Springfield Armory has announced a newer and smaller 2011 handgun in the 1911 DS Prodigy 3.5” AOS 9mm, which is now available. This pistol isn’t drastically different from the larger counterparts within Springfield’s portfolio. It is simply a smaller footprint for concealed carry, to draw from a holster, and for working around obstructions (obstacles within your own home, barriers at a shooting competition, etc).

Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 3.5” AOS 9mm
The new Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 3.5” AOS 9mm (SKU: PH9114AOS) has a retail price of $1,582. This places this iteration of the Prodigy into a similar pricing territory as the variations that have come before it. Additionally, these pistols will come standard with an AOS cover plate, a Docter/Noblex-footprint AOS plate, and a coupon for an additional AOS plate of the customer’s choice at a reduced price of $49.
